Propose Topics for Policy Review

Thank you for reaching out to the Police Accountability Board (PAB).
We are committed to working collaboratively with the community to ensure that Rochester Police Department (RPD) policies serve the best interests of all Rochester residents. Your input is invaluable. We welcome suggestions not only for new policies or improvements to existing ones, but also for areas where additional information or clarification is needed.

By providing your contact information, you authorize the Police Accountability Board to reach out to you regarding your policy recommendation or inquiry about an RPD practice, pattern, or procedure.

When submitting a policy-related topic, we encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your idea and the specific aspect of policing you believe it will improve. You may choose to remain anonymous when submitting a policy topic.

The Policy and Oversight Division’s work falls into two main categories:

  1. Proposals for Change (policy recommendations)
  2. Oversight Investigations

Proposals for Change are part of a community- and data-driven process through which the PAB makes formal recommendations to improve RPD policies and practices.

Oversight Investigations are designed to bring transparency to the powers exercised by the Rochester Police Department and its officers. These investigations assess specific subjects or aim to answer targeted questions about police conduct or procedures.
