Where You Will Work

The Police Accountability Board is an independent agency within the City of Rochester charged with overseeing and reimagining Rochester’s policing system. The Board investigates potential wrongdoing by Rochester police officers, brings change and transparency to the Rochester Police Department, and educates and engages community members in the work of reimagining public safety. The Board is committed to performing these tasks in a workplace defined by accountability, equity, transparency. The Board’s headquarters are located in Rochester’s downtown core.

What You Will Do

This is a highly responsible position that serves as the chief assistant to the Board’s leadership team, including its Board Members and its Executive Director. This position will perform complex administrative duties and exercise independent judgement to deal with office management issues and interaction between the Board and other units of government, the public, and the media. General supervision is received from the Executive Director under guidance of the Board. Occasional participation in community engagement efforts as and when required. Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications & Additional Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have (at minimum) a high school diploma or G.E.D. and one of the following:

  1. Four (4) years of “executive support experience,” which includes duties such as (but not limited to) scheduling a supervisor’s appointments, maintaining a supervisor’s calendar, preparing agendas for meetings, taking minutes at meetings, or composing and typing correspondence as directed by a supervisor; or
  2. An Associate’s degree and two (2) years of executive support experience as defined above.

This position has a residency requirement. If hired for this position, you will have one year to move within the City of Rochester. Continued residency in the City will be required throughout your tenure.
